Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Multan Division (WCCIMD)conducted its annual mega event The Blue Fair 2019 (7th edition) in collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) from 26th to 28th April 2019 at Shahjahan Banquet Hall. Blue Fair is an extremely successful trade fair of international standards, the first of its kind in Multan, that happens every year and has become a brand now. The main aim and purpose of holding this event is to provide the entrepreneurs a platform not only to exhibit their product but develop business contacts and expand their market worldwide.
Advertising of the event was carried out by hoardings, brochures, social media, and tickers on Rohi, Channel 24 etc. throughout in Multan and personal invites were sent to worthy dignitaries, notable officials and VIPs of this region.

THE EXHIBITION
According to demand and interest of exhibitors from all over Pakistan. 93 stalls were installed in which many were shared by two entrepreneurs. A 3-day trade exhibition started under the aegis of Regional Women Entrepreneurs funded by TDAP.
A large number of women entrepreneurs and visitors came from Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Lodhran, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Karachi, Mardan, Quetta Hazara, Lahore etc. SMEDA also participated with 15 stalls from all over Pakistan.
Significant sponsors included Bouncer, Guard Group, Fatima Group, Nestle Nesvita, First Women Bank Ltd, Shama Ghee, ACCA, Chughtai Lab, Panache etc.The exhibition was attended by local businessmen, VIPs of Multan and delegates to promote entrepreneurs from all parts of Pakistan.

DAY 1: The event formally inaugurated on April 26th with combined ribbon-cutting by Ms. Shandana Gulzar Khan (MNA PTI & Commerce secretary). This lady developed a huge fanfare of her own because of her sweet, kind and down to earth personality. A cherished and celebrated kind of chief guest, she turned out to be. Mr. Riaz Ahmed, Director General TDAP, and Sheikh Waseem Ahmad (CEO Bouncer & platinum sponsor) also honored this ribbon cutting ceremony with their presence and their scissors.
After ribbon cutting the dignitaries took a round of exhibition. They appreciated the efforts of exhibitors & organizers. They also admired the display and ambiance of Blue Fair 2019 and declared that it is true, the event is getting even better every year and this year it has broken all the records of perfection. Thanks to the honest dedication of the president madam Seerat Fatima and her wonderful team.
The commitment shown by these ladies, the senior vice president, Mrs. Uzma Burana, vice president Mrs. Novaira Fahad, former president WCCIM/ former vice president FPCCI and current spokesperson of WCCIM is awesome. Also, the young and talented Zubia Zainab's are truly worth mentioning. Great work girls! You are amazing.

Day 1 was dedicated to assignment and setting up of stalls. Stalls had great variety of products made & designed by Women entrepreneurs. Products included Blue Pottery, Multani khussas, rilliwork of Sinddh, camel skin products, paper crafts, hand embroideries, jewelry, products made by pink salt, etc
The designer lounge had well-known brands like Bombay Wala, Aamna’s, Zubia Zainab, Shahs and Wood carvers. There was stall of the international Lab “Chughtai Lab” the idea to make them a part of this event was to create awareness amongst the women regarding their health issues particularly Vitamin D and how healthy women is a healthy entrepreneur which proved to be a very healthy activity. And for those with a sweet tooth, there was 'the little cake company by Zahra Shah', which brought in, the newly opened and extremely popular restaurant 'tree house cafe' as partner for the savoury delights.
They offered free tests and special vouchers for the members of WCCIMD. Ministry of Commerce initiative “Emerging Pakistan” was taken forward as composite and its logo was displayed at the entrance of the event to spread awareness to people.

The Inaugural Dinner by Patron in Chief
On the night of April 26 an inaugural dinner was held at Multan Marquee hosted by Patron in Chief Mrs Farrukh Mukhtar from Fatima Group of Industries. Ms.Shandana Gulzar Khan, MNA (Secretary Commerce) was the Chief Guest at this occasion who, in her insightful speech, shared her experience of Blue Fair 2019. She was impressed by this Trade fair of International standards in Multan. She appreciated a lot the efforts of entire of Blure Fair 2019.
This year Life Time achievement award was given to Mrs Naseem Raheem (former president) for her untiring efforts for the progress of chamber. She received her beautiful shield from Chief Guest Ms Shandana Gulzar Khan. Few other awards were given to the Platinum sponsors by the Patron in Chief n host of dinner Mrs Farrukh Mukhtar. Mrs. Mala Ahsan represented the sponsors 'Shama Banaspati'. WCCIM is highly obliged by them all for their presence.
Important dignitaries of Multan, CEO NFC Mr. Omar Saeed graced the even along with officials from TDAP, ACCA and WCCIMD Executive board. At the end, guests were entertained with music by a very good young singer from LUMS.

DAY 2
DAY 2 (SEMINAR)
On second day April 27th, 2019, in parallel with the ongoing exhibition, a Seminar was held at Shahjahan Banquet Hall by ACCA in collaboration with WCCIMD and TDAP. The topic of the seminar wasWomen In Business Making Pakistan Prosperous. The seminar started with National Anthem. Ms.Gazala Saifiwas the Chief Guest for the evening.
The Key Note speakers at the seminar were as follows:
- Shah Muhammad Khan,Welcome Address, Business Development Manager ACCA Pakistan.
- Maryam Zafar, CEO, FTAC & Member ACCA Pakistan Women in Finance.
- Husnain Haider Langah, Deputy Director TDAP Multan.
- Dr. Rehana Kausar. Head of Commerce department BZU Multan.
- Dr. Iram Akhtar, Nutritionist from NESVITA (sponsor) telling the importance of CALCIUM intake for women specially working women.
- Amna Masood, CEO Maven Logix.
- Dr. Asmat Naz, Vice Chancellor, The Women University Multan.

The Seminar was followed by an awards ceremony where speakers were presented with mementosfor their participation in the event. And then the dinner was served for the attendees.
Students from all leading business institutes also attended the seminar to learn from the experiences of successful entrepreneurs.
DAY 3
On third and last day of event (April 28th, 2019) an award ceremony was conducted along with the exhibition. Beautiful Blue Pottery shields were distributed to the sponsors, performers of Blue Fair 2019 team, office bearers, organizers, media persons.
While Certificates of Participation given to all the exhibitors, volunteer bloggers and ambassadors (mostly students). The Award Distribution ceremony followed by tea and snacks for all the attendees.

Footfall, around 35,000, was witnessed at all three days of the event, forcing the display to remain open till late in the night as opposed to the official daily closing time of 10 pm. It was realized that a bigger venue may be needed in coming years for the event given the size of the crowds it attracts.
MEDIA COVERAGE
The event earned massive print & electronic media coverage throughout three days. We congratulate the president Seerat Fatima and the patron in chief, Madam Farrukh Mukhtar for making it a success. This event has seriously encouraged other women's chamber to hold such events. We wish and pray that it may become as big as Dubai Shopping festival some day. Well done again!!
