Women's chamber of commerce and industry Multan has this honour that it introduced 'Blue fair'. An event, which is being organized every year, in collaboration with TDAP, for almost five years now. It serves as a plaform to bring female entrepreneurs together from all over Pakistan to exhibit their products under one roof. And with each passing year, it is getting beigger and better. Like previous years, in 2017 also, it was planned to co-incide with 'international women's day' in March. But due to some restrictions in district administration of Multan, it was delayed till mid of April.

From 13th to 15th April, the city of saints witnessed this jubilation of 'women empowerment' at Shahjahan banquet hall, with around hundered stalls set up by women business chambers from around the country. A great opportunity for the local buyers to enjoy the variety of products  and the sellers to display their creativity at a new level. It turned out to be an even bigger success than previous years.

The president WCCIM, Mrs. Naseem Raheem with her dedicated team, left no stone unturned to make it a massive success. Her efforts were extra ordinaire'. Hundered stalls with three or four persons managing each of it, is a great number to accomodate but the president personally remained in touch with each stall member and tried to facilitate them. Former president/Current spokes person of WCCIM & vice president of FPCCI Masooma Sibtain, the vice-president Filza Akbar and Seerat Fatima (former vice president), Mrs. Farah Saqib also remained actively involved and gave their best. Members like Fatima Fazal, Fariha Munir, former president Mrs. Razia Shah, Mrs. Ambreen Abbas Khan, Humera Batool,Khshnood, Shazia, Tahira Qureshi, Rehana Kausar,  Samina Waqar, Novaira Fahad, Tahira Najam, Shabana Qureshi, Rubina Rauf, also remained industriously engaged.

Distinguished names from branded clothes industry, like Elan, Saphhire, Zubia Zainab. House-hold accessories like Taneez, Al-Kanooz, etc, were all there. Participants arrived from Peshawar to Karachi, bringing the best of their cities and products, to display with WCCIM's very own talented designers and exhibitors. 'Blue fair' also boasted an impressive food court, with stalls by members like 'Desi dastarkhwan'. Established restaurants like Lahore Chatkhara Multan branch and SUBWAY, to newly opened 'London courtyard. Small and cute ones like by the young members, the little cake company by Zahra Shah.

Three days of Blue fair included, a launching ceremony, a formal welcome dinner (partially sponsored by the patron in chief, Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar) , a seminar with lunch. For which, dignitaries arrived from all over the country. Mr. Iftikhar Ali Malik, Mr.S.M. Munir, President FPCCI Mr. Zubair Tufail, Mr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Mr. Atta Bajwa, graced these occasions with their presence. Representatives of the distinguished business community from Multan, included the names of Mr. Faisal Mukhtar, Mr. Fazal Mukhtar, Mr. Fawad Mukhtar, Khawaja Roomi, Mr. Tanveer Sheikh and others.

Three days of 'Blue fair', were actually three days of a great show of 'women empowerment. Three days of connecting and strengthening of female business community. A great effort and a great achievement indeed. We salute our president Mrs. Naseem Raheem for her dedication and hard work. The contributions of Masooma Sibtain to WCCIM can never be denied, as she is the one who launched the idea of 'the Blue fair'. Also, WCCIM cannot thank its Patron-in-chief, Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar, who is the backbone of the entire show. It is due to her continous support and personal attention that this women's chamber, stands tall and proud among others. Congratulations ladies! We are all proud of you!

Committee with a cause

Cake cutting ceremony with the new and former president Few years ago, in order to help female artisans and members of this chamber to find some capital to start their own businesses, WCCIM established a committee system. In which each member contributes 2000 PKR, every month. The amount is collected together and given to each member turn by turn. And the cycle goes on. Micro financing on the grass-root level. The idea could not be somebody else but of the genius Masooma Sibtain ,  the former president and current spokesperson of Women's chamber of commerce and industry, Multan. This committee also becomes a source of regular meetings and socialising among the members. The committee party for the month of October was hosted by  Masooma Sibtain   and Humera Batool. Arranged in the office of the chamber, it provided the members an opportunity to see the improvements and developments brought in it. WCCIM stands today as a financially independent institution, with a pr...
