Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an international initiative that introduces entrepreneurship to young people in six continents.

GEW emerged in 2008 as a result of Enterprise Week UK and Entrepreneurship Week USA 2007. Since its creation, more than 10 million people from roughly 170 countries have participated in entrepreneurship-related events, activities and competitions during GEW.
This annual event occurs over the span of one week and includes the participation of millions of entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers, educators, entrepreneurship support organizations and interested individuals. Currently, 165 countries celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week running national campaigns that generate approximately 35,000 events, activities and competitions.

Women's chamber of commerce and industry, Multan division, being a great platform for female entrepreneurs, always focuses on the significance of the celebrations of the day, making it a tool to bring forward their inspirational success stories.

The new president of WCCIMD, Seerat Fatima, who has a wide experience of working with international firms like Coca Cola and running several of her own fashion brands successfully, is not only herself an inspiration but is always keen to introduce the talented business women on WCCIMD, who are venturing into the world of entrepreneurship and turning the societal tides.

For the year 2018 , GEW celebration was arranged, on 28th November, in collaboration with IMS department of Bahaudin Zikria university Multan. Alongwith the president were, Senior vice president, Mrs. Uzma Burana, vice president Novaira Fahad, two of highly successful business ladies and Amreen Khan. Fariha Munir, Zahra Shah, Omema Arif, Farah Saqib, were also among those who attended the
event.

The program was conducted in IMS seminar hall at BZU and was hosted by very talented students of the same department. Seerat Fatima addressed the gathering, shared her views and announced special packages of membership discounts for the students of BZU. Then she went on to introduce, the major success story of a young and talented female entrepreneur, named the little cake company by Zahra Shah.

Zahra Shah was invited on stage and she shared her story. How former president of WCCIMD and former VC of FPCCI, Masooma Sibtain encouraged and motivated her to start her business. Although, she wanted to study further after completing her A-level from Beaconhouse, but then fate wanted her with an extremely successful business and now, for the little cake company by Zahra Shah, sky is the limit.

Uzma Burana, the senior vice president and Novaira Fahad, the vice president also inspired and motivated students to have their businesses, instead of wasting their time, looking for jobs. Faculty members of IMS department also shared their opinions.

At the end, the president Seerat Fatima was awarded a shield as a recognition of her efforts for building a bridge between the students and the entrepreneurs. What made the faculty proud was, Seerat Fatima, the president is also alumna of the same department.

The event was widely covered by print and electronic media. Truly a great effor by WCCIMD and IMS, BZU. Looking forward to see more cooperation in the future.

Group photo The new president of women's chamber Multan, WCCIM, Ms.  Seerat Fatima  passionately follows membership drive of   this platform for female entrepreneurs . Not only she wants an increase in the number of members, but is doing her best to add advantages to their membership scheme as well.  The day she took over as president, she proposed her idea of value added membership cards for WCCIM members, which would get them discounts at different places. Vice president  Novaira Fahad  went on to work hard to get famous restaurants,  parlors and grocery stores on the panel. SPWCCI members together with guests from Peshawar    Women Business Development Center Peshawar (WBDCP), as part of its business development initiatives, organizes exposure visits to larger markets.
